The Hotel de Paris, Monaco
Legendary Monte-Carlo. The Hotel de Paris is about to integrally reopen its doors after four years of refurbishments. Built in 1864, today the mythical palace has 192 rooms and exceptional suites, all with balconies and/or terraces. An innovation for all foodies: Alain Ducasse’s new restaurant serves at all hours, in addition to his 3 Michelin star Louis XV on the ground floor and grill on the 8th floor with exceptional views of the French and Italian Riviera. The 910 m2 Princess Grace Suite and the Prince Rainier III Suite, both with private swimming pools, rule the town.
Why do we love it? In addition to access to the Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo, there’s a new rooftop wellness space with terrace, pool, steam room, chaise lounges, sauna, fitness room and lounge bar.
Extra glow: must visit: the new gardens designed by landscape architect Jean Mus.

Hotel Verlaine, Cannes
A charming 4 star hotel in the heart of Cannes, the Verlaine was built in 1896 by the architect who also designed the neighboring Hotel Windsor. Once known as the Floreal, the landmark hotel reopened its doors at the end of 2018. The Verlaine is contemporary art deco in 49 rooms that include works by artists and designers like Sarah Lavoine who designed the wall paper. Surrounded by landscaped Mediterranean gardens punctuated by Paul Verlaine quotes, in the tea room one can taste the latest blends by Mariage Frères with macarons and other treats, and the lounge bar is open round the clock. Try a tea workshop or the in-room hair salon.
Why do we love it? Located in Cannes’ Californie-Pezou neighborhood, it’s just 10 minutes from the Croisette and Festival Palace.
Extra glow: the Atelier, an original suite that’s like an artist’s studio, a reminder of famous neighbor Picasso, who also lived in the neighborhood.
