6. Preview: Cannes Film Festival

The very first Cannes Film Festival was programmed for 1939. The poster was designed by painter Jean-Gabriel Domergue, inventor of the pin-up, and the festival to be presided by Louis Lumiere.


Cancelled because of the war, the Festival was re-born in 1946. Cannes and the cinema, a long story that attracts the who’s who of glamor every year. From May 14 to 25 the Croisette welcomes the film world and its stars during this 72nd festival.
