• Mineral filters are very small particles that absorb & reflect UV rays on the skin's surface. They are natural but may contain nanoparticles which may cause undesirable effects. Only Zinc & Titanium dioxide filters are allowed for mineral formulation.
• Chemical filters are molecules absorbing UV rays instead of the skin. They provide an effective protection against UVB & UVA but some filters are harmful that’s why we decided to remove those incriminating filters from our formulas.

• Chemical filters spread easier on the skin. These dissolve in the cream, providing a pleasurable non sticky texture with a transparent finish.
• Mineral filters are white powders that are not soluble and therefore more difficult to spread: they can leave a white finish on skin especially if they are non-nano.

• Nanoparticles are particles smaller than 100 nanometers in diameter. They are frequently used in sunscreens on the market in order to make the textures more fluid and without leaving white marks, also helping to reach high SPF. They can be easily identified on the ingredient list by the annotation [nano] preceding the name of the filter.
• Nanoparticles in mineral filters can have a potential toxic effect when inhaled. Nano use of Zinc and Titane filters is prohibited only through this form.

• Our formulas are water resistant
• Our formulas do not contain water-soluble sun filters
• We do not use Oxybenzone, Octocrylène, Homosalate and Octinoxate filters in Sun Sensitive range

• The sun damages your skin to different degrees. Sunscreens are efficient active ingredients to protect your skin from its harmful effects.
• At Lancaster, we have developed the Full Light technology that targets 100% of the sun spectrum* and guarantees the greatest protection against the 4 types of rays: UVA, UVB, visible and infrared light.

Overexposure to the sun is a serious health threat.

• The lighter your skin, the higher your SPF should be. If you have very fair skin, use an SPF50. If you tan easily and only rarely get sunburned, opt for a SPF30.. Finally, if your skin tone is darker, an SPF15 is sufficient provided you do not expose yourself for too long. In any case, remember to reapply your protection regularly. Overexposure to the sun is dangerous for your health.
• The best sunscreen for your skin is the one that gives you the most enjoyable experience and one that you can’t wait to reapply, you just have to choose the texture you’ll love the most!

• The recommendations state that you should use a generous handful of cream for your entire body in order to achieve the SPF level indicated on the product label.
• Lancaster does its best to offer highly sensorial textures because we are convinced that the best protection is the one you want to reapply often. The right quantity to apply is the maximum, so do not forget to take pleasure !
• To ensure that you stay safe in the sun, apply sunscreen all over your face & body before sun exposure and reapply frequently every 2 hours especially after swimming, perspiring or towel drying. Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight and keep them well-covered with a T-shirt, hat and high SPF sunscreens. Avoid excessive sun exposure at peak hours of the day.

The SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is the indicator of the level of protection of a product against sunburn. To determine it, we assess how long it takes to get sunburned with and without protection. It’s a relative value system that enables to compare products and to choose the most adapted individual protection. If you choose a lower SPF than you normally use, you should reapply it more often to stay protected.

Not necessarily since all essential ingredients are kept in the formula. Lancaster is constantly improving to do better with fewer, whilst maintaining no compromise on efficacy. On top, sensitive skins require specific attention since they are more subject to redness.

Our Sun Sensitive formulas are vegan so do not contain raw material of animal origin.
